Connect your WhatsApp account via Official Cloud API

The WhatsApp Cloud API is the official and preferred way of connecting a WhatsApp account to GoTallo. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for configuring a Meta application and connecting it to GoTallo.

This guide requires you to have a meta business page setup and have a phone number ready that is not already used for WhatsApp and is able to receive SMS messages or phone calls.

Add a WhatsApp Business Account

Login to your business.facebook.com and click on settings in the sidebar.
In the sidebar of the settings click on WhatsApp accounts
Click “Add” and follow the instructions to add a new or existing phone number.

Add an App to your Business

In the sidebar now click Apps.
Click “Add” and then “Create a new app ID”.
A new tab will open where you can name your app and add an contact email.
Click “Next” to go to the use cases tab, scroll down and select WhatsApp. If this option is not available then select other and in the next step select Business as app type.
In the use cases menu in the sidebar select WhatsApp.
Click API Setup and select the phone number in the dropdown. Write down the Phone number ID and WhatsApp Business Account ID.
Click Configuration in the sidebar and set https://GoTallo.herokuapp.com/1.0/webhook/whatsapp_cloud/ as the callback url and faafee0e45cd456bb8e62fc61b1094a3 as the verify token.

Click verify and save.
Subscribe to messages
Select App Settings → Basic and write down the App secret.

Get an Access Token

Go back to the business manager and select System users in the sidebar.
Add a system user
Assign the whatsapp account asset to the user. The Messages and Message Templates permissions need to be enabled.
Generate an Access Token

Configure GoTallo

Go to the GoTallo Configuration app.
Add new “WhatsApp - Official Cloud API”
Fill in the fields and save
